Minister Han Changfu meets his German counterpart Christian Schmidt

Minister Han Changfu met German Minister of Food and Agriculture Christian Schmidt in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, on June 3, 2016, who headed a German delegation to the G20 Agriculture Ministers Meeting. 

 

Minister Han Changfu expressed his appreciation for German's support and contribution to the success of the Meeting. Mr. Schmidt spoke highly of the outcomes of this Meeting.

 

The two sides delightedly reviewed China-Germany relations and the bilateral agricultural cooperation in recent years, agreeing that the bilateral relations is at a stage of high-level development and the bilateral agricultural cooperation is leading the agricultural cooperation between China and European countries.

 

The two sides well implemented cooperation activities in agriculture outlined in the Action Outline for China-Germany Cooperation, jointly established the Sino-German Agricultural Center which opened a new chapter for the bilateral agricultural cooperation, and has jointly advanced the projects of demonstration on planting, animal farming and training on professional farmers. At present, both sides are pressing ahead with dialogue on agricultural policies and cooperation in ecological agriculture. The two sides also had deep and extensive exchanges on the agriculture-related issues under the frameworks of the upcoming fourth round of China-Germany governmental consultations later this month and cooperation under the framework of G20. 

 

Both sides agreed that China-Germany agricultural cooperation is rich and effective, with a broad prospect. Both sides expressed their willingness to work together to further promote the bilateral agricultural cooperation.
